Hadassah’s Fifth Pediatric Research Day

On Tuesday, June 21, 2016 we held our annual Pediatric Research Day at the Tourism Hall in Hadassah, Ein Karem, in memory of Dr. Ido Yatziv z"l

The morning session, chaired by Dr Jacques Brown and Dr Amos Fruman, covered a range of topics including diagnostic, genetic and cellular impacts in cardiovascular, hematology and respiratory disorders as well as infectious diseases.

Dr Amir Zilkha and Dr Rebecca Brooks chaired the afternoon session with lectures regarding HIV, Diabetes, surgical novelties, chronic diseases and some nursing topics.

Following the second session, we acknowledged one of Hadassah's staff members with an Excellence Award, a unique initiative promoted by the Yatsiv family. In addition, a volunteer organization was acknowledged with a special honor.

The day concluded with a special seminar given by Author Yehuda Atlas with a behind-the-scenes account of the book series “This child is me” followed by some insights into the research and writing of children’s songs for those who experience neglect, violence and sexual abuse.

The day promises to include educational and lively discussions and a great way for researchers to get exposed to the various areas of knowledge coming out of the pediatric division.
